About Hardware, IoT & Devices
Hardware is the slow, awkward corner of any launch calendar. A device has to be designed, built, shipped and supported, and the people who manage it deserve a page that records it properly. This category gathers the products and businesses that make or run physical, connected things, from a pocket gadget to the platform that keeps a fleet of sensors talking.
Everything here sits in one of four subcategories, and the category page lists them all together with filters to narrow the view. Listings appear newest first, in the order they launched. Visitors can switch to community votes, which cannot be bought. Each entry has one main category, chosen at submission, so a product turns up where its maker thinks it belongs, and the archive keeps it there week after week.

Hardware, IoT & Devices: questions answered
- What belongs in Hardware, IoT & Devices?
- Products and businesses where a physical object or a connected device is central: gadgets, home devices, platforms that manage connected hardware, and robots. Pure software with no device behind it belongs in a software category. Hardware makers whose product needs a companion app still fit here.
- How do I choose between smart home and consumer gadgets?
- Pick smart home if the product is built to live in a house and work with other household devices, such as lighting, heating or locks. Pick consumer gadgets for personal or standalone devices. Your one main category is included free, and an upgrade can add more.
- How do I get my device listed here?
- Go to /submit and paste your website address. An AI drafts the profile from that site, and you check and edit every field before anything goes live. Choose this category, or one of its subcategories, as your main category. A free listing waits about 6-8 weeks; a paid launch is $5.
- How are listings ordered on the page?
- Newest first by default, so recent launches sit at the top. Visitors can sort by community votes instead. Votes can never be bought, so the vote order reflects what readers chose rather than what a maker paid for. Filters narrow the list further.
- What should I compare when looking at connected devices?
- Check what the product needs to work: an account, a hub, a subscription or a particular network. Look at how it handles updates, what happens if the maker's service stops, and which other devices it connects to. Each profile's description and website are the place to confirm these.
