The Launch Directory

Every launch, every week, permanently on the record.

Compared, on the record

Launch platform alternatives, compared on the record

Sixteen places founders put a new product, each set beside The Launch Directory with its own published rules, prices and the date we read them.

Most founders launch in more than one place, and they should. A launch day on one site, a listing in a software directory and a post where developers gather all reach different readers.

These reports are written to help you choose where your time and money go. For each platform we say what it is, who it serves well and what it does better than anyone, then where The Launch Directory works differently. Their facts are quoted from their own pages with the date we checked; ours come straight from our live price list.

What a launch on The Launch Directory includes

These come with a listing on The Launch Directory, and each one is live today.

A paid launch at $5
It goes live straight away or in the week you choose, with a followed link to your website and every profile section open: the founder story, milestones and demo video.
A free way in
With our badge on your website and your founder profile complete, a free listing joins the free queue and goes live in its week, 1-2 weeks out. Its link to you is not followed; screenshots and comparisons are shown all the same.
A launch receipt for every listing
Each live listing carries a dated record of what we measured after launch: Domain Rating by Ahrefs then and now, referring domains, AI mentions where we measure them, and the visits we sent you. It is updated daily, and nothing in it is estimated.
A free AI answer check
Every listed business can run one free check of what ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity answer when a buyer asks about its category: whether you are named, where, and which sources they cite.
Votes that cannot be bought
One person, one vote. Featured places, sponsors and the Billboard are labelled as paid and never add a vote to anything.
Our Domain Rating, in public
Our own Ahrefs Domain Rating is printed on the pricing page, so you can judge the link before you pay for it.
Pay without signing up first
Your account is created at checkout. Pay by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal or crypto; prices are in US dollars, VAT is added only where due, and invoices come from Zinn Digital® Ltd.
Product of the Week
The three listings with the most community votes each week win #1, #2 and #3 Product of the Week, with a badge for the listing and a page to share.
Founders by name
Every founder gets a profile page linked to their companies, and a paid listing can carry the founder story behind the product.
Domain records on every listing
Listings show the company domain's public registration record, and the free domain age checker looks up any domain.

How to choose where to launch

Start with the reader you want. Developers gather on Show HN and DevHunt; software buyers search G2 and Capterra; people hunting for AI tools browse the AI directories; early adopters and makers watch the daily and weekly launch sites.

Then look at what stays after the launch. A dated page that keeps working for you, a followed link, and a record of what changed after launch day are worth more than one busy afternoon.

Finally, weigh the rules. Some platforms only take individuals, some only developer tools, some only accept paid submissions, and some ask for a link back to them. Each report spells these out.

Questions readers ask

Is The Launch Directory an alternative to Product Hunt?

It can be used instead of it or alongside it. The Launch Directory files launches in dated weekly editions, with community votes that can never be bought, a launch receipt on every live listing and a free way in. Many founders launch here and on Product Hunt; the two do not exclude each other.

Where do the facts about other platforms come from?

From each platform's own pages, read on the date shown next to every fact, with a link to the page. Where a platform does not publish something, such as a price, we say so rather than guess.

What does a launch on The Launch Directory cost?

A paid launch is $5, before VAT where due, and a free listing is available. The pricing page lists every option and is always current.

Can I launch on The Launch Directory and on other platforms too?

Yes. Nothing here asks you to launch only with us, and a listing here does not stop you launching anywhere else, before or after.
