About People & Profiles

People & Profiles is the section for products whose subject is a named individual. Some tell a founder's story. Some are a personal site, a body of work laid out for clients, or a single page that points to everything else a person does. Each is a launch like any other, and each stays in the archive once it has run.

The category page lists every product and business filed here and in the four subcategories beneath it. Filters narrow the list. Entries appear newest first, and visitors can re-sort by community votes, which can never be bought. If you are choosing where to file your own launch, read the subcategory notes first: the difference lies in what the page is for, not in how it looks. A profile reports on a person, a portfolio proves their work, a personal site holds their wider thinking, and a link page directs readers elsewhere.

People & Profiles: questions answered

What belongs in People & Profiles?
Products and businesses where an individual is the centre: a founder's story, a personal site, a portfolio of work or a link page. Tools that merely help people build such pages may fit better elsewhere, so check the subcategory notes before you submit.
How do I choose between a portfolio and a personal website?
Ask what the visitor is meant to do. A portfolio exists to show finished work to someone who might hire or commission you. A personal website is broader: writing, notes, a biography and projects in one place. If work samples dominate, choose portfolios.
How do I get listed in this category?
Go to /submit and paste your website address. An AI drafts the profile from that site, and you check and edit every field before anything goes live. Each listing has one main category, included free. A paid upgrade adds up to 3 more for $5.
How are listings ordered on the page?
Newest first by default, so recent launches sit at the top. Visitors can sort by community votes instead. Votes cannot be bought, so a higher position under that sort reflects what readers actually chose, not what a founder paid for.
What should I look for when comparing options here?
Check that the page says plainly who the person is and what they do, that the work or story is easy to reach, and that there is one clear way to make contact. Pages that load quickly and read well on a phone usually serve visitors better.
