How does self-reported revenue work?
One self-reported revenue figure per company: where to enter it, how it is shown and how to take it down.
Updated
Self-reported revenue
Your company can show what it earned in a month - one figure, in US dollars. You can skip it completely. The owner of the listing can report it, and so can someone who manages the listing. The label self-reported goes with the figure everywhere, since the number is yours.
Adding your figure
Go to /account/revenue after signing in. Each company has its own card with three fields: the amount, the month and an optional proof link.
Rules for the figure
Pick a month from the last 24, or the current one. The proof link is kept with the figure for our staff and is not shown to visitors. The optional proof link must point to a public https page. Enter a positive amount.
What visitors see
It is shown with its month and the date you reported it, and marked self-reported. The figure goes on your listing and onto the revenue leaderboard. Every site that lists the company shows that one figure.
Separate tables
At /leaderboards/revenue there are two tables: self-reported figures in one, verified figures in the other. Votes, the billboard and revenue are separate systems, each labelled.
Updates
Report a new month or amount at /account/revenue whenever you like. The listing's history keeps every version.
