The billboard: a leaderboard of contributions
The billboard is filed at /leaderboards/billboard. It ranks listings by the total money their owners have contributed, in US dollars. The page is labelled as a paid ranking, so visitors know what they are reading.
How contributions work
You choose the amount you wish to contribute. The minimum is $5. Each new contribution you make is added to any previous contribution your listing has received. The board orders listings by their total accumulated contributions, from highest to lowest. Any listing that has contributed at least once remains on the board.
How to join the billboard
To add it from your account, your listing must be live. Sign in and go to /account/listings. Select "Upgrades and extras" next to your listing and enter your contribution amount under Billboard. You can also add a contribution during the plan step when you first submit your listing.
The billboard stands apart
Contributions to the billboard do not affect community votes, Launch of the Week, verification status, Domain Rating or any other ranking. The billboard, votes, verification and Domain Rating are distinct systems, and each is clearly labelled on the record. Promo codes cannot be applied to reduce a billboard contribution.
