Which sections of a profile are locked on a free listing?
Free listings show five sections as locked. They open when you upgrade to a paid launch. Your editable basics are always available.

The five locked sections
When you file a free listing, these sections appear on your profile but are shown as locked to visitors:
- Founder story: the founder's account, linked from the listing
- Milestones: dated stages in your product's development
- Screenshots and demo video: a gallery and video link
- Comparisons: your main competitor and alternatives
- Dofollow website link: on a free listing the link to your site is nofollow; a paid launch makes it a followed link
Your entries in these sections are saved as you write them. They remain hidden only until the section opens.
Opening locked sections
To make these five sections visible, upgrade your free listing to a paid launch at $5. Once upgraded, every section opens and your website link becomes a followed link.
To upgrade: sign in to /account/listings, find the listing you wish to upgrade, and select 'Upgrades and extras' next to it.
What stays editable at any time
These elements are never locked, whether your listing is free or paid. Edit them whenever you need from /account/listings:
- Name and tagline
- Description and features
- Category and FAQs
- Social links, logo and homepage screenshot
These basics form the core of every filing in the archive, free or paid, and remain in your control throughout.

- Can visitors see what I've written in locked sections before I upgrade?
- No. Locked sections are hidden from view. What you write is saved and will display as soon as you upgrade to a paid launch.
- Does the website link work differently on a free listing?
- Yes. Free listings use a nofollow link to your website. Paid launches use a dofollow link. Upgrade at $5 to switch it.
- Which parts of my profile can I edit without upgrading?
- Name, tagline, description, features, category, FAQs, social links, logo and homepage screenshot are always editable. These appear on every listing.
